Basic Information
In the pilot short, Æon is clearly allied with some kind of organization (presumably a group of Monican rebels). This is enforced by the scene at the end of the pilot where she dies and someone at a control panel vaporizes her belongings. However, as the series progressed, Æon developed into an independent character that has motivations of her own. Because she isn't bound by the mission of a group, those motivations are a mystery.
Æon's Deaths
In the Æon Flux shorts, Æon died at the end of every episode. This became something of a thematic element that served both as a satire on Mary Sue action heroes and as a definitive end to the story. She died for sure once in the main series (although an exact clone replaces her) and may have been killed in a later episode, but it is left ambiguous.
- Sx01 - Pilot: Lost her balance on the ledge of a tall building.
- Sx02 - War: Shot in the head by Varsh Lockney.
- Sx03 - Gravity: Slammed into the ground.
- Sx04 - Leisure: Captured and devoured by an alien creature.
- Sx05 - Mirror: Shot by Trevor Goodchild.
- Sx06 - Tide: When pushed by her accomplice, Æon's neck hit a ledge by the wall and snapped.
- 1x04 - A Last Time For Everything: Shot to death by rotating turrets at the border of Bregnia and Monica.
- 1x08 - Ether Drift Theory: Trapped in the stasis ooze of Trevor's prison.

Trivia
- The voice of Æon was modeled after Geneviève Bujold, an acclaimed French-Canadian actress. During casting, many of the voice actresses had strong accents (including Romanian, British and eventually French-Canadian). However, because none of the actresses gave an audition that completely fit the character, producers instead decided to focus on an "I'm not from around here, deal with it" attitude for the voice instead of an accent.
