Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is an anime comedy that exhibits several absurdist qualities. In particular, the series employs puns, non sequiturs, double-talk, breaking of the fourth wall, non-sexualized cross-dressing, visual gags, and satirical Japanese pop-culture references in order to get across an unique style of humor.

The story it set in the year 300X, a time plagued by the evil Bald Empire (Margarita Empire), led by Emperor Baldy Bald (Tsuru Tsuruiina IV). The empire is taking over the world by stealing people's hair. Of course, it's up to the hero, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, to fight the Baldies through the Art of the First of the Nose Hair (Hanage Shinken), a technique that allows him to fight using total control of his body hair.

The series was dubbed and aired in America on Cartoon Network's anime themed Toonami block of shows. Although the series does have many Japanese specific themes, the dub often works around them by making fun of the fact that it's a Japanese show dubbed into English.
