- In addition to Part Four adding Peter Davison to the credits, the closing credits have a slightly different backdrop without Tom Baker's face this time.
- First appearance of Tegan.
- This serial marks the last time The Doctor is listed in the credits as "Doctor Who" until the 2005 revival.
Behind the Scenes
- Tom Baker recalled that he dreaded leaving the series and was pretty angry during production and therefore couldn't take direction or comments from anyone. John Nathan-Turner also claimed that after finishing his last scene, Baker quietly slipped away without saying a word.
- Baker began filming three days after his wedding to Lalla Ward.
- The Doctor was supposed to scream as he fell, but Baker didn't feel this was heroic.
