Allusions and References
- 2003 National League Championship Series Game 6 -- Stewie recounts his urging of Chicago Cubs fan Steve Bartman to go after a foul ball during the Cubs' NCLS game against the Florida Marlins as the "worst thing" he's ever done. What happened and the aftermath: Chicago was leading 3-0 with two out in the eighth inning. Florida's Luis Castillo hit a high foul ball toward the left field wall, and Chicago left fielder Moisés Alou attempted to reach into the stands to catch the ball for the second out. However, several fans sitting in the area attempted to catch the foul ball and one (Bartman) touched the ball and caught it. After Chicago was unsuccessful in pleading for fan interference, Castillo walked, starting an eight-run rally by Florida. The Marlins went on to win the game 8-3, the National League championship (in Game 7), and eventually the World Series.
- "Johnny B. Goode" -- The episode title is based on the 1958 rock hit by Chuck Berry.
