Iron Man Is Born! is the first episode of the first season of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

News footage recorded on someone's camcorder is shown of Iron Man fighting a giant robot. We then see Tony Stark and James Rhodes in a car, with Rhodes trying to convince Tony that he should leave that kind of stuff to SHIELD. When they get back, Pepper Potts tells Tony that HYDRA is attacking the United Nations. Stark, as Iron Man, then goes off to fight HYDRA, defeating a handful of soldiers on the ground before being confronted by three huge robots, noting that they found their target and will destroy.

HYDRA Lives!

Nick Fury asks Maria Hill for an update on when they will get to the United Nations when he is told Iron Man is on the scene. Iron Man is then shown trying to avoid missiles from the robots, and is told by JARVIS that he is being attacked by HYDRA dreadnought-class robots that have been upgraded with technology made by Stark Industries, meaning he is fighting against weapons he designed. Meanwhile, Rhodes tries to comfort Pepper who is worried about Tony in this fight by himself. Iron Man then starts defeating the robots, during which time one of the soldiers gets up and aims for Iron Man before being shot by another soldier. With one robot left, SHIELD finally arrives, taking out the last robot and demanding that Iron Man stand down.

Behold, the Mandroids!

While SHIELD's Mandroids tell Iron Man to come with them, Iron Man scans their armor and finds out they use Stark Industries technology. Nick Fury gives the orders to stand down, as he doesn't want the Mandroids to fight Iron Man. One of the HYDRA robots pops-up behind the Mandroids, and Iron Man goes to shoot at it, leading the Mandroids to think he is attacking them, so they shoot at him. Iron Man still manages to use all of his power to stop the robot. Afterwards, he takes some of a Mandroid's armor and goes up and confronts Nick Fury about stealing Stark technology. Maria Hill and a team of SHIELD agents hold their weapons up to Iron Man and tell him he's arrested for firing on the Mandroids, before Fury tells them to stand down because he wasn't attacking the Mandroids, he saved them and the United Nations. Iron Man gets upset at Fury about using the Stark tech for weapons, and the fact that HYDRA must have stolen the tech from SHIELD. Fury then tells Diana to get Black Widow. We then see Tony talking to Rhodes and Pepper, telling them what happened. They try to tell Tony he shouldn't do this kind of stuff alone, leading Tony to question who could help him.
