Plot Overview

• Three months after Day Three, Jack Bauer is summoned into the office of Erin Driscoll, the new head of CTU. She informs him that she is firing him because he had been addicted to heroin. Jack protests that he is clean and the program worked, but Driscoll refuses to budge. She offers to make some calls to help Jack get a new job, but he retorts I can find my own fucking job, Erin." and leaves.
• One year later, at about 1 A.M. in a darkened Los Angeles hotel room, Audrey Raines arrives and is accosted by someone. She begins to make out with the person and we see that it is Jack Bauer.
• Meanwhile, near the Mexican border, people smugglers have arrenged to get Tomas Sherik across the border. He pays the smugglers and crosses through a hole in the fence. He meets up with a smuggler on the American side and kills him with a silenced pistol. Then he uses a remote detonator to blow up the smugglers on the Mexican side. Then he phones someone to let them know he's across the border.
