AT&T, Inc. is the largest provider of both local and long distance telephone services and wireless service in the United States, based in San Antonio, Texas. The modern company, which was formed in 2005 by SBC Communications' purchase of its former parent company, AT&T Corp. As a part of the merger, SBC shed its name and took on the iconic AT&T moniker (originally American Telephone and Telegraph) but changed the logo to all lower case to be less threatening and also kept the famed T stock-trading symbol (for "Telephone").

Cingular Wireless and AT&T are both working with the television industry to push new forms of distribution for television content including the internet and cellphones.
