Jump to: navigation, search

Academy ratio is an aspect ratio of 1.37:1 used for films. It was first used in 1928, became the standard approved by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1932, and was used for the majority of films made until 1952. Academy ratio became obsolete with the advent of widescreen in the 1950s.
