Behind the Scenes

  • Was not aired by the BBC until it needed to serve as filler for the 1972 Olympics in light of the Munich massacre leading to the cancellation of several days' worth of events.
  • Was produced in colour, but a black-and-white version was available for international syndication for countries where colour television broadcasts hadn't been adopted. When the original colour version was wiped in the 1970s, the black-and-white version was the only one available for decades until it was restored to colour in 2009 and broadcast on New Years Day 2010 on BBC2.
