Plot Overview
Chick plays into Norman's delusion about Norma as he has Caleb imprisoned in the basement. Romero takes an opportunity to make an escape.

- Chick assures Mother that her secret it safe with him. He takes the opportunity to secretly records Norman. He later gets a typewriter to help him turn it into a true crime novel.
Characters
- Caleb opens to Chick about he and Norma's rough childhood.
- Madeleine confesses to Norman the stress of her marriage to Sam due to him constantly being away.
- Romero escapes during transfer. He attempts to steal a car, but is discovered by a kid who accidentally shoots him.
- Mother keeps from Norman that Caleb is in the basement. When he does, he becomes Mother. She then has him go down to kill Caleb. He can't do it and frees him, only for Caleb to get hit and killed by Chick in his car.

- Max Thieriot and Olivia Cooke do not appear in this episode. This marks Thieriot's first absence in the series.
- Austin Nichols is also given a credit despite not appearing in the episode or even a deleted scene. This marks the only time a guest actor has been given a credit without an appearance.
