Happenings

  • Day 34: Howie believes that James and Sarah are going to target him and Rachel at their first possible opportunity, so Howie nominates James and Sarah. Both Sarah and James are shocked that Howie would do something like this, and they both spend the entire week in relative recluse.
  • Day 36: James won the Veto Competition and decided to take himself off the block. Howie decides to nominate Ivette, who volunteered herself, but Ivette is wary for most of the remainder of the week because Jennifer and April have considered switching and voting to evict her and not Sarah. Maggie gets a hold of this, and forces Jennifer and Sarah back into The Friendship.
  • Day 37: Howie, Rachel, and Janelle are scared that Eric has a strong possibility of coming back into the game. They're all hoping Kaysar or Michael comes back because it means that they have a guaranteed ally going into the seventh week.
  • Day 38: Houseguests found more quarters and put them into the gumball machine, but the only capsules to pop out were "Sorry, Try Again!" capsules.

Food Competition

  • Conveyer Belch
  • Winners: James, Jennifer, Rachel, and Sarah
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly: April, Beau, Ivette, Maggie
  • The house was separated into two teams. One team consisted of April, Beau, Ivette, Janelle, and Maggie. The other team consisted of James, Jennifer, Rachel, and Sarah. The two teams were situated in front of conveyers. The two conveyers rolled out sweets, and the goal of the competition was to eat more sweets than the other teams. Any sweets not eaten would fall in a bin, and whoever's bin weighed less won the competition. The competition started with fairly small sweets: kisses and snocaps. As the conveyer started to speed up, bigger sweets, including donuts and eventually cakes, started to sprout up. In the end, James's team was successful by only a few hundredths of a pound.
  • It was later found out that Janelle threw the competition so the other team would win because she was the keeper of the PB&J task and therefore was exempt from a PB&J diet.

Luxury Competition

  • There was no Luxury Competition this week.

Veto Competition

  • A Lotta Piñata
  • Winner: James
  • Participants: Howie, Rachel, Sarah, Jennifer, James, Ivette
  • The houseguests were all given piñatas for them to decorate to their own likeness. At the veto competition, each houseguest was given ten pieces of candy to put in the houseguest's piñata. The houseguest with the closest amount of candy to twenty pieces without going over would win the Power of Veto. Each houseguest had to use all ten pieces of their candy, and they had to put candy in atleast two different piñatas. James came in first with 18 pieces of candy after all the other houseguests overthought the challenge and placed very few pieces of candy in his piñata. Howie came in second with 16 pieces of candy.
  • With James having won the Power of Veto, he chose to remove himself to escape eviction and Howie nominated Ivette as his replacement.

Head of Household Competition

  • Pressure Cooker
  • Winner: Jennifer
  • Total Time: 13 hours, 53 minutes
  • All the houseguests are locked in a "pressure cooker" box where they have to hold a button down longer than the other houseguests in order to win Head of Household. In the pressure cooker are several boxes. When a houseguest lets go of the button, either voluntarily or not, they have to open one of the boxes. For every three houseguests who are out of the game, the door opens and they are allowed out. The last houseguest with their button still pressed wins Head of Household. Additional rules of the game state that houseguests cannot have their knees touching the ground, although they can squat.
  • Order of Elimination:
    • Beau was the first out after his knee touched the ground at six hours and twenty-five minutes. The box he picked allowed him to access a mini martini bar. Beau yelled out to Big Brother that his disqualification was unfair, although Big Brother has not acknowledged this statement.
    • Janelle was the second out after seven hours and ten minutes. The box she picked won her a plasma television.
    • April was the third out after eight hours and thirty-one minutes. The box she picked contained $3,000.
    • At nine hours, Big Brother told the houseguests that they were only allowed to use one hand for the duration of the competition. Ivette and James are using their left hand; Kaysar, Jennifer, Maggie, and Rachel are using their right hand.
    • Ivette was the fourth out after ten hours and twenty-three minutes. The box she picked contained a deflated air horn.
    • Maggie vountarily quit and was the fifth out after ten hours and thirty-seven minutes. The box she picked contained rotten eggs.
    • James voluntarily quit and was the sixth out after ten hours and thirty-seven minutes. The box he picked contained pizza.
    • Rachel was the seventh out after ten hours and fifty minutes after her finger accidentally slipped.
    • At thirteen hours, Big Brother instituted new rules that prohibited them from squatting, leaning on the plexiglass, or sleeping.
    • Kaysar was the eighth and last person out after thirteen hours and fifty-three minutes after his finger slipped when he was changing fingers. That makes Jennifer the new Head of Household.

The Show

  • First Time: This is the first time Howie has won Head of Household. Rachel threw the competition so that her partner, Howie, would win, having won Head of Household in the first week already.
  • Do Over!: Howie accidentally said that the houseguests had reached "the nine hour limit" during the Head of Household competition, so Big Brother made Howie say the line again as having reached "the nine hour mark."

  • Day 34: Janelle, keeper of the PB&J Pass, throws the food competition so the other team wins.

Quotes

  • I hated this week, primarily because Howie messed up the entire game so badly. After the veto ceremony, there was a slight bit of redemption, with Jennifer and April seriously considering to take out Ivette, but, naturally, things went down the way they were supposed to, and everyone save James voted to evict Sarah. I'm not sure where the show goes from here, but if Jennifer winning Head of Household is any hint of things to come, it's not looking good. C+ --Wizardryo 18:50, 12 Aug 2005 (PDT)
