Plot Overview
Angry with the way a beautiful deaf girl named Ann is treated by her father, a sheepherder living in a remote mountain cabin, Little Joe takes it upon himself to teach her sign language so they can communicate better. His plan backfires when Ann falls in love with him and Albie, a local trapper and the girl's brutish and unsavory neighbor who has ill intentions toward Ann and continually forces himself on the young beauty against her will, resents her lavishing attention on the youngest Cartwright.
