Plot Overview
Danny Robin, who was responsible for Amos joining the police force, is gunned down in an alley during a mysterious meeting, and no one hears or sees anything unusual. Amos wonders why Robin was so interested in five suspects from previous cases: a financier who beat a murder rap, a charming dance instructor/blackmailer, another blackmailer, a young drug addict, and a tough-guy dock worker. He later learns a shocking secret that his friend was keeping from him.
Trivia
The Show
It may or may not be in the script, but Gene Barry manages to mangle a couple of character's names in this episode. First off, there is a scene where he refers to the dead man, Amos Burke's police force mentor, as 'Danny Robins', when his name is 'Robin' with no 's'. Later on, he visits a pharmacist named 'Mr. Jacobson' for information, but the closing credits list the character name as 'Jacobs'.
