Plot Overview

After saving a family trapped in an overturned camper, Jon and Ponch find themselves accused of negligence when the father is moved and his spinal injury aggravated. Jon pulls over a high school classmate who offers him a lucrative job selling sports cars. A pair of rednecks make a phony distress call in order to shoot at a CHP vehicle. Jon is intrigued by a fetching blonde he sees driving classic cars. Jon and Ponch help a woman deliver a baby in a crowded nightclub. The precinct also gets a new mechanic.

The Show

This episode marks the debut of Lou Wagner as mechanic Harlan Arliss.

This is also the first episode with the disco theme music.

A clip of Ponch disco dancing in this episode was added to the opening credits of the series' final season.
