Shinnosuke "Shin" Nohara is the main character from the Japanese animated series, Crayon Shin-chan.

Basic Information

Shinnosuke Nohara, aka Shin-chan, is the main character of the Crayon Shin Chan series. He is 5 years old and goes to Futaba Kindergarten. He lives in a lower middle class home occupied by himself, his parents Hiroshi and Misae, and his baby sister Himawari.

Shin loves chocolate biscuits called Chocobi, and his favorite superhero is Action Kamen. He is attracted to older women, like his neighbor Nanako, and doesn't prefer girls of his own age, such as his classmate Ai who is attracted to Shin. His preference for older females comes from his father and grandfather's side.

Shin is often compared to Bart Simpson, as he has a similar "mischievous boy" complex. Shin frequently likes to remove his pants and dance using his rear end. He also likes to do the "elephant dance," where Shin draws an elephant's face on his crotch and uses his penis as the trunk.

Foreign Language Differences

Barring some added language for North America, Shin's personality and attributes remain mostly unchanged for foreign versions. His English voice actors are Kath Soucie (phuuz/Lacey) and Laura Bailey (FUNimation).
