Trivia
The Show
- The ashtray from "Father's Day" can be seen on the board's table at the parole hearing, where it holds the rubber stamp that they use to deny Elmer his freedom.
- One of Elmer's books is titled "Bugs: The Miserable Philosophy of Upson Pratt". This is the same name as the protagonist of the original Creepshow story "They're Creeping Up on You!".
- The prison warden from Within the Walls of Madness returns as a minor character in this episode.

Allusions and References
- The aspect of Elmer finding and using an Ancient Egyptian scroll to get revenge on his tormentor is an allusion to the story "Lot 249" from Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which Tom Savini has referred to as the "unofficial Creepshow 3".
- Elmer is incarcerated in Fiorina Federal Prison, which is named after the prison planet of the same name from Alien³.
- Elmer's unsettling demeanor and obsession with his mother are reminiscent of Norman Bates of Psycho.
