Happenings
- Suki's informant tells her that her boyfriend went to sell some coke to a cop who extorted dope and cut it with laxative as protection. Suki winds up finding him washed up under the pier, shot nearly a dozen times. Kurtz wants to try to bring the informant in for questioning and offer her protection. She can't get it from Suki and Curtis, but asks Sue who agrees to find her for her.
- Dominic is approached by the parents of Moorehouse's previous wife, the Westerbrooks, after learning about the second fire. Moorehouse's previous neighbour and witness had called them after recalling that she may have been mistaken about the time she saw Moorehouse left prior to the fire. He later learns from Sunny that evidence shows the second wife was breathing in fire well before the explosion. Dominic brings this to Fleming and mentions his suspicion that the dog may have smelled it if it had been in the house. He then notes how much similarities there are between the two fires. He later questions Moorehouse again and he recalls he had trouble lighting the burner on the stove.
- Leo and Mick are called to the site of a gas station robbery where the cashier was shot and killed by a pair of natives she's been chasing. This is the first time they've shot and killed someone, but aside from them previously using knives, everything else fits. They are later called to another gas station robbery.
- Rose recalls hearing from the drug squad Jack Pierce going in a dope house and out with a prostitute named Brenda Eberhart and confirms it from Brian Curtis. She tells Kurtz as they are a hearing committee concerning prostitute reform. She relays this to Dominic and Pierce asserts that he's trying to help the girl on behalf of a family friend.
- Moorehouse tells Dominic that he had been visited by Steadman.
- The Westerbrooks has threatened the coroner's office with a judicial inquiry. If the first fire goes to a second inquest, there would be a conflict of interest and Kelly pulls Dominic off the investigation and gives it over to Homicide.
