Danger Mouse is a reboot of the animated series Danger Mouse, which originally aired on ITV from 1980 to 1992. Brian Cosgrove, who helmed the original series with co-creator Mark Hall, is a series consultant. It is produced at Boulder Media in Dublin, Ireland under the directorship of Robert Cullen (The Amazing World of Gumball). The series airs on CBBC, the children's outlet of the BBC. The premiere date of September 28, 2015 is 34 years to the day the original series premiered on ITV. It made its North American debut in the spring of 2016 via the subscription service Netflix. Lena Headey, who played Cersei Lannister on Game Of Thrones, has been recruited to voice Jeopardy Mouse, a female agent who assists Danger Mouse and Penfold on occasion.
