Deinterlacing

From The TV IV
Jump to: navigation, search

Deinterlacing is the process of converting an interlaced image to a progressive scan image. Also referred to as "line doubling" or "I to P conversion," deinterlacing is built into modern DVD players and TVs. Most DVD content is interlaced, and deinterlacing fills in the missing lines so that a progressive scan image, more suitable for LCD and plasma screen televisions, can be obtained.
