In Demimonde, when a woman, Olive Reed, is torn away from her husband and daughter in a brutal scientific accident, she is forced to unravel a conspiracy to reunite with her family, now lost to a dark, distant other world.
The series was picked up in 2018 and was still in pre-production when HBO pulled the plug on it in June 2022, following weeks of discussions surrounding the show's budget, which creator J.J. Abrams initially proposed to be around $200 million.
