Plot Overview

Bree insists on taking a polygraph test when she learns that she is a suspect in Rex's death but is blindsided by an unsuspected question. Lynette's new boss complicates her plans to accompany Parker to his first day of kindergarten. Susan comes to terms with Edie's new role in Julie's life. Betty is forced to turn down Susan's request for piano lessons, as she is having a crisis of her own. And Gabrielle reconnects with John to find closure, or could it possibly lead to a rekindling of their affair?

Lynette finds herself torn between her new job and her family when she has to miss taking her son Parker to his first day of kindergarten. The man in Betty Applewhite's basement finally escapes, but Betty is able to subdue him with a sharp blow to the head. Susan becomes more suspicious of her new neighbor when Betty comes to the door with blood on her shirt. Julie is forced to choose between Susan and Edie when both want to be her musical partner for the church's family talent show. Mike visits Felicia after she returns home from the hospital, but is unable to get any information from her on Zach's whereabouts.

After insisting to Carlos that John loved her, Gabrielle is shocked to witness their former gardener having an affair with another woman, prompting her to make a tearful apology to Carlos. When Bree and Phyllis visit Rex's grave, they find his coffin has been dug up. Bree discovers that the insurance company wants an autopsy performed on Rex's body to determine whether he died of a heart attack, or whether he was poisoned. Bree submits to a lie detector test to prove her innocence, which turns up a surprising fact about her feelings for George.
