Trivia
The Show

- Harry Sullivan's return makes for the first story to feature the return of a former companion in the series. Ironically, this would also be Harry's last appearance in the series.
Behind the Scenes
- Because they hated the script, Baker and Sladen wound up rewriting and adlibbing most of their material, including the entire end scene.
- Writer Terry Nation felt that the story was a nice idea with an intriguing mystery, but didn't feel the end product quite fulfilled his vision.
- The Brigadier was originally meant to be featured in the story, but Nicholas Courtney was already committed to a theatre tour, believing his time on the show was over. The character Colonel Faraday was written as a replacement. Additionally, Courtney turned down the part because he had been asked for another story was annoyed that his part was cancelled at the last minute.
