- School Reunion: Rose attempts to bond with the Ood who served her dinner.

Trivia
The Show
- Goof: Celestial mechanics: The Doctor's amazement notwithstanding, it is of course possible to be in orbit around a black hole, it's just another gravity well.
Behind the Scenes
- Gabriel Woolf, who provides the voice of the Beast, appeared in a previous Doctor Who episode, 1975's Pyramids of Mars (as Sutekh).
Allusions and References
- Lays of Ancient Rome: Jefferson slightly misquotes from Thomas Babbington Macaulay, Lays of Ancient Rome (1842), Horatius, st. 27:
- And how can man die better
- Than facing fearful odds,
- For the ashes of his fathers,
- And the temples of his gods.
Memorable Moments
Quotes
- Ida: Well, we've come this far, there's no turning back.
- The Doctor: Aw, did you have to? "No turning back?" That's almost as bad as "nothing can possibly go wrong" or "this is going to be the best Christmas Walford's ever had."
- The Ood: We are the legion of the beast.
