Plot Overview

Sam's ex-boyfriend, Steve and an inmate named Rafe are brought to the ER after a prison fight and Mary, a new EMT trainee who is working with Sam for the day is revealed to be Rafe's girlfriend & they overpower a police officer to free them; when Luka discovers what's going on, Mary drugs him with a needle filled with Vecuronium. After Sam convinces Steve to allow her intubate Luka, she is forced to leave the hospital with Steve, Mary & Rafe. When Abby suspects something's wrong and a security guard approaches them, shots fire in the ER and one of them hits Jerry (who was shielding a young boy). When Sam is forced into a getaway van, she learns that Steve has kidnapped her son, Alex.

Meanwhile, Pratt helps Neela out when Gallant's parents arrive.
