Plot Overview
On Valentine's Day, Carter and Lucy treat law student Paul Sobricki who shows signs of mental illness; Abby cares for an elderly woman with a serious infection; two young kids come to the ER after a car accident which ultimately costs the lives of their parents; Mark deals with the competitive nature of Malucci and Chen; he also treats a doctor with a tumor who prefers radiation over chemotherapy for his treatment; Corday assists Romano on an operation involving Romano's dog, Gretel; later on, Mark and Corday go on a double date with Mark's father and Corday's mother; during the staff's Valentine's Day party towards the end of the episode, Carter and Lucy end up getting stabbed by Sobricki in an exam room.
