Plot Overview

In order to pay for Reese's speech therapy, Benton takes a two-week job in the town of La Verne, Mississippi to work at a medical clinic; while in Mississippi, Benton deals with the local racism, saves a little boy & his father who were injured in a tractor accident, helps deliver an infant baby while dealing with the grandfather's concerns that the baby might be black, tries to convince an grandmother to allow her diabetic granddaughter to have surgery for a heart defect and saves the lives of two shrimp boat workers injured in an accident.
