- Stoker used his real name as his character's name in Emergency!
- In real life, Stoker was an engineer with the Los Angeles County Fire Department as well, working at the LACoFD's Fire Station 69 in Topanga Canyon, California. He was eventually promoted to Captain before retiring in 1996
- In addition to firefighting, Stoker was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, which enabled him to drive the Engine 51 truck on the series, as the LACoFD required an actual firefighter/engineer to legally be able to drive and operate the truck on the show
