Allusions and References
- "New Kid in Town" – The episode title is a play on the title of a 1977 No. 1 hit song by the Eagles.
- The Price is Right – During his energy drink high, Peter appears on the daytime game show, appearing in the Showcase Showdown (where contestants spin the Big Wheel). After giving a rambling list of names of people he knows, he spins the Big Wheel ... so hard it comes off its moorings and rolls into the audience, killing several people. The strength of which the Big Wheel was spun itself is a reference to series' host Bob Barker frequently making jokes about, due to the wheel being spun so hard, that it would either come loose or, in the very least, cause the show to run long and into The Young and the Restless's timeslot.
