Flight of the Conchords is a comedy that aired on HBO. It follows the two-man band Flight of the Conchords, which is made up of New Zealanders Bret on guitar and Jemaine on bass, as they try to make it in New York City. Murray, who works at the New Zealand consulate, is the band's manager, and his assistant is Greg. Mel is the band's biggest (and only) fan, who obsesses over, and sometimes stalks, the band, sometimes with his reluctant husband Doug along. The band's best friend is Dave, who runs a local pawn shop, who they often look to for advice.

In real life, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement are in a band called Flight of the Conchords, but the show is a fictionalized account of the band.

After the second season finished airing, there was no definitive word as to whether the show would continue. HBO reportedly wanted a third season, but it was up to McKenzie and Clement, who weren't sure if they wanted to continue. The band has now confirmed that they will NOT be doing a third season, meaning the show is officially finished.
