Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends/At a Glance

Creator Craig McCracken said he got the idea for Foster's when he and his wife Lauren Faust (who is a storyboarder for the show) went to adopt a dog and wondered what those dogs' lives were previously and why their owners deserted them or gave them up. The animal shelter was the springboard for the show's Home.

Wilt was based on a dog that was missing a front leg, Eduardo was taken from a bulldog that cowered when approached, and Coco was the mixed breed.
