Plot Overview
In Arms Way is the Christmas episode of Freakazoid. We join our hero in a perilous journey to buy Christmas gifts for his friends and family at the last minute. While Freakazoid goes off to buy Lincoln Logs, Arms Akimbo is on a crime spree, selling "oops insurance." Unfortunately for the various shops Akimbo visits, Freakazoid is still looking for Christmas gifts. The two fight in in the middle of a department store before being apprehended by the police. Between episodes, there's a musical interlude with Freakazoid playing Jingle Bells on the piano.
In The Cloud, a strange cloud is terrorizing the Alps, clownifying people who dare to go inside it. Meanwhile, Freakazoid is making his way through Europe on a train, bound for a vaguely Germanic town called Schnitzle. At the train station, Hans is waiting for Freakazoid to take him to the observatory via skybucket. At the observatory, Professor Heiney reveals that the cloud transforms people into clown zombies. After Freakazoid goes out into the cloud, he discovers that the Lobe is behind the clowning. Freakazoid convinces Lobe that it was a stupid idea (nobody really likes clowns) and the Lobe skulks off in tears.

The Cloud is a parody of the 1958 movie The Crawling Eye (also known as The Trollenberg Terror.) In that film, a similar cloud hovers above a village in the Alps, only it contains man-eating space monsters. The cartoon's first scene and credits sequence, in particular, borrow directly from the movie.
