Great Teacher Onizuka is a comedy anime program based on a manga published in Shonen magazine starting in 1997. The manga also inspired an extremely popular live-action drama program.

The series follows the adventures of Eikichi Onizuka, a former gang member who has decided he would like to become a teacher so he could sleep with attractive young co-eds. Quickly realizing this is a very bad idea that will get him in trouble, he opts instead to become the world's greatest teacher. He gets a job at the private Holy Forest Academy, where the principal decides to make him homeroom teacher for the most troublesome class in the school. They were once betrayed by a teacher they trusted, and now the entire group has vowed to make life a living hell for every homeroom teacher that crosses their path. It's up to Onizuka to win them over by any means necessary... one student at a time.
