Overview

New Boston Inn

Brian comes to Jason and Grant with a pitch to go to the New Boston Inn, where they have claimed to have paranormal activity. An associated group, O.R.I.O.N. has already investigated this spot and claimed to have found some interesting evidence. The story behind this Inn involves a woman who was killed on her wedding day, named Harriet, and is supposedly still roaming around the Inn.

Mike, from O.R.I.O.N. shows Jason and Grant a spot where he said he captured some orb activity. Jason says that he’s never impressed by supposed orbs because it’s just too easy for dust to give the same effect. Mike says he can make out a face with a bonnet on it in this supposed orb. TAPS has brought along a photography expert whose opinion is that this is just dust. The team investigates this. Andy finds that there is a hole in the roof where air can travel in. There are also cracks in the ceiling where the insulation can travel into the room below, and these cracks are directly over where the orbs were found. The team investigates this further and finds that the insulation looks exactly like this one orb on camera. Jason comments about how TAPS and ORION approach hauntings differently: ORION tries to prove a place is haunted, TAPS tries to prove that it isn’t.

Grant and another ORION member, Brian, put a pen on a notepad in a room because they have been told that this room often has activity. They seal the door and when they return the pen is moves slightly. They try to blow on the pen and to knock the desk to get it to move but it clearly would take a lot of force to move the pen.

Jason and Brian (Brian from TAPS) aren’t impressed by the pen event and would like to dismiss it. Grant thinks that it shouldn’t be overlooked, but agrees that it’s not enough to say that the place is haunted.

Ulbrich-Fritz House

A home owner claims that she has been seeing strange lights and hearing things in her home for the past several years. Her daughter, who used to live there, also claims to have seen things in the past. The daughter said that while she was living there she would see softball sized lights floating around on the second floor of the house. Although the mother said that she never saw these, she started to see them after the daughter moved out. The mother also says that she hasn’t slept in her master bedroom for the past several years because she would see a green mist at the foot of her bed.

Grant and Jason ask Donna to re-interview the mother and daughter to see if their stories would hold up when asked separately. Meanwhile Jason and Grant are investigating the mother’s room and find that she has a jewelry box with a pentagram on it, and inside are necklaces with pentagrams. They ask the mother and daughter their religious affiliations separately and both claim to be catholic.

Donna says she feels mixed energy when she is walking around the house. Brian is investigating in the living room when he hears something in the kitchen but can not find a source for this. When they investigate the video/audio they can not figure out what happened. Jason and Grant conclude that there is no evidence of paranormal activity after reviewing all of the evidence.

Memorable Moments

  • Andy comes to Jason and tells him that Brian has been giving him a hard time lately. Jason asks if he thinks perhaps Brian is on a power trip, but Andy just thinks that perhaps Brian is trying to impress Jason and Grant. Jason suggests that Andy does more debunking and works closely with them, which Andy loves the idea of. After participating in the New Boston Inn investigation Andy says that he is finally able to have more freedom to be creative.
