Plot Overview

Hogan is enjoying a night of love-making with Hilda in the back seat of Klink's staff car, courtesy of Schultz who was given two chocolate bars. Their love-making is interrupted by the arrival of a Gestapo captain who wakes up Klink. Hogan is curious as to the Captain's visit and listens in on the Coffee Pot. The Captain's purpose is to talk to two men in Klink's command. One is Private Holtz and the other is Captain Metzker. Meltker is on leave and is due to return in three days. The Gestapo will talk to Holtz. Holtz is called to the Gestapo captain's car and machine-gunned to death. Hogan watches this from the secret periscope. Hogan is genuinely shocked. He is curious to know why. By morning Hogan and his men discuss the matter concerning the Holtz shooting. He has Carter and LeBeau sneak into Klink's files on both Holtz and Metzker. They photograph the information on both and soon learn that both men were experts on radio communication and secrets that the Nazis didn't want revealed. There were others that knew certain secrets and they were also executed like Holtz. To gather information on what the secrets are, Hogan, Newkirk, and a female agent seek s out, find, and warn Metzker that his life is in danger. They find Metzker in a hotel room with a female companion. Hogan goes alone to talk to Metzker, who is understandably surprised to see him out of camp and in civilian clothes. Hogan tries to tell Metzker that his life is in danger from the Gestapo. Metzker won't listen until Hogan pulls a gun and then reveals that he and his men operate an underground unit where they engage in sabotage and intelligence activities. Newkirk and the female agent arrive to warn Hogan about the Gestapo searching the area that they are in, looking for Metzker using a photo of him. With this, Metzker and his girlfriend are taken to a safehouse. Metzker is still uncertain about what Hogan has told him, so he wants proof. The proof he wants is an article in the London newspaper. Hogan agrees and after the newspaper prints proof of what Metzker wanted, Metzker agrees to provide information to Hogan in exchange to getting Metzker and his girlfriend out of Germany and onto England.
