Plot Overview

Hunter's case and McCall's case dovetail when Iris and Billy Joe kill Saverino, Johnny Youngblood's 'boss'. Jack Small goes on trial for manslaughter in the boy's death, but when the D.A.'s office declines to prosecute, Devane suspects that Moorehead used undue influence with the Assistant D.A. and sets out to prove it, at the risk of his job. McCall's cover is blown when Youngblood blackmails Assistant Principal Landry and gets him to turn over her real identity. She still worries about Debbie, Small's daughter, who may have gotten into something over her head. After Small is released, Billy Joe pays him a visit and kills him.
