Plot Overview
Questions abound in the death of a prominent rancher, and the only witness is his daughter, a habitual runaway with whom he had clashed. She claims that her father gave her the gun and ordered her to shoot a horse, which goes against everyone's opinion of him as a non-violent man. Judd must represent the girl at an inquest to determine the circumstances of the incident and whether it was accidental or murder.
