KSTW is an American local station. Licenced to Tacoma, Washington, the station broadcasts to Seattle (where its transmitter and studios are located) and the northwest Washington area on digital channel 11. CBS News and Stations (a division of Paramount Global) owns the station, which operates as an independent station. It also carries female-oriented TV network Start TV (co-owned by Paramount Global and MeTV owner Weigel Broadcasting) on digital subchannel 11.2.
As part of a deal made with CBS during the sale of majority ownership of The CW to Nexstar Media Group, KSTW, along with seven other Paramount-owned CW affiliates, ended their CW affiliations to become independent stations on September 1, 2023; on the same day, the Seattle CW affiliation moved temporarily to a subchannel of KOMO-TV. With the disaffiliation, KSTW returned to independent status for the first time since 1995, when it rejoined CBS as an affiliate for the first time since September 1, 1962 (when, as KTNT-TV, it lost the affiliation to KIRO-TV).
