Behind the Scenes

Allusions and References

  • Bobby comes sliding into the room in his underwear to the Bob Seger song "Old Time Rock and Roll", much like Tom Cruise does in the 1983 film Risky Business. However, he does so in sync to Luanne watching it, oblivious to the memorable and oft imitated scene.

Memorable Moments

Goofs

  • Peggy's Boggle trophy is gold, but after putting it on the shelf, it's suddenly silver.
  • When Peggy gets into the truck, her arm passes through the rear view mirror.
  • The concierge's bell on the desk changes between gold to silver.
  • When talking to Cissy, the sleeve on Peggy's jacket changed from red to black in one shot.
  • When Peggy cries on the bed, Hank puts his book in the chair, but when it cuts away and back to the same shot, the book is suddenly gone.

Quotes

  • Dale: I tell ya, I hate to see Nancy cooped up all Sunday playin' that Boggle. It's a beautiful day. She ought to be outside, hangin' my laundry.
  • Luanne: Boy, Aunt Peg, the words I don't know could fill a dictionary.
  • Dale: Boy, that wife of yours is pretty good. I guess that's why they call her your better half.
Hank: Who calls her that?!
Dale: They.
  • Luanne: Can I go back to bed, Aunt Peggy? I got to get eight hours of beauty sleep and then write a paper on it.
  • Luanne: What have you done? That coffee table is trashed! Your parents trusted us, Bobby, and we let them down.
Bobby: They won't be home for 48 hours. I'll think of something! (beat) Hey, I got it. You think of something.
  • Peggy: Oh, Hank, I have dreamt of this moment ever since I reached ages eight and up.
