"Knight Rider...a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law."
Knight Rider tells the story of Michael Long, a police officer shot and left for dead. Found by the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG), nursed back to health and given a new identity, Michael is reborn as Michael Knight, with his new mission to fight criminals who operate outside or above the law. To aid him in his mission, Michael is issued the high-tech Knight Industries 2000 (K.I.T.T.), a futuristic car coated in a near-indestructible armor shell and fitted with a powerful artificial intelligence and an array of James Bond-esque abilities (such as "turbo boost") to aid Knight in his mission.
The show spawned two TV movies of dubious quality (Knight Rider 2000—a sequel to the series—and Knight Rider 2010—which had little relation to the original series) and an unsuccessful 1997 spinoff series called Team Knight Rider.
