Character History
Jason Lochner has not had an easy life in Knots Landing. It seems that Jason is being abused and is causing problems for all concerned. Mack MacKenzie finds out that Jason is abused by his father, but Jason tells him that his father is dead and he is in foster care. Mack finds out that his story doesn't check out when he visits Jason's home and hears the abuse. Jason is being taken away from his home by the police and starts haunting the MacKenzie home. Jason was supposed to testify against his father and he can't do it. His father, Dick Lochner, claims that it is all a lie. Jason then calls Mack because he is being abused again and Mack tells him all about his life with his father. Jason asks Mack to take care of him. Mack and Karen want to be Jason's foster parents, but the judge will not allow it. Mack gets in trouble for harboring Jason and withholding evidence of his whereabouts. While Mack is jailed, Gary tries to help Jason out. All of a sudden. Jason's uncles come by the MacKenzie house and kidnap Jason in their truck. Mack is out of jail, and Jason is back with his abusive father. Jason leaves and his father follows him, and Jason ends up in the hospital. Dick is arrested and Mack finds out that he will be fired for hiding Jason, who moves into the MacKenzie's house. Jason misses his father so, but he makes it so that Mack is his hero and wins a trip to Sweden. Jason and Julie Williams get even more closer and start dating, much to Frank William's chagrin. Jason turns out to be danger when he joins a gang- this is the famous paint ball shooting scene when Karen is hit by a paintball. The season closes out on the car that Jason is in getting hit by a truck, killing the miscreants and leaving Jason unconscious. The 1991-1992 season opens with Jason making out okay in the hospital and Karen taking a stand on teen violence. Of course, Karen gets in trouble for reckless endangerment and she claims that she met violence with violence and someone died. Jason then leaves for Sweden a redeemed and trouble-free man.
