Koppel on Discovery (2006–2008) is a series of news documentary specials hosted by legendary journalist Ted Koppel, which aired on the Discovery Channel. As he did on Nightline, Koppel investigates each subject thoroughly and seriously, and with an eye towards in-depth coverage of an individual topic. However, the Koppel on Discovery specials air irregularly, and they are not as limited in time slot, so Koppel has more freedom to provide more comprehensive coverage. In November of 2008 Discovery and Koppel announced that they would be terminating their contract six months early and no further specials would be produced.
