Plot Overview
Deputy Marshal Jess Harper and the Marshal are on the trail of Frank Bannister and his gang for two weeks when Bannister turns the tables on them along the Santa Fe trail in New Mexico. Afoot and with nowhere else to run they make for Fort Defiance Trading Post with Bannister close on their heels. The men, headed by Clint Gentry, who live at the trading post rescue Jess and the marshal but one their own, Reb who gave Jess and the marshal time to run, is captured. Bannister is willing to trade, giving Clint an ultimatum, Jess and the marshal for his friend Reb. Gentry is caught between a rock and a hard place and so are Jess and the marshal.
Notes
- This episode was a pilot for an unsold series. The opening and closing credits, as well as the theme song, seemed to indicate that the series was to be titled Defiance.
