Law & Order: Trial by Jury was the third series to spin off from Law & Order. The series took out the "Law" elements (traditionally associated with the police and detectives) and focused entirely on the "Order" (the judges, the prosecutor, the DA). This didn't prove to be very successful as the series was cancelled after a mere 13 episodes, a first in Law & Order history.
However, this cancellation was met with anger from Law & Order fans, as Trial by Jury was meant to air the final episode in which Jerry Orbach appears before his death. The episode, entitled Eros in the Upper Eighties was held over until the second season for unspecified reasons, despite being the sixth produced. When the series was officially cancelled, "Eros in the Upper Eighties" remained unaired until it was shown on CourtTV in January 2006, and later included in the complete series DVD.
