This episode is remarkably similar to an episode of The New Mike Hammer, "Mistress for the Prosecution", with the notable exception that Barrington hires Hammer.
The character of Special Prosecutor Lawrence D. Barrington became Deputy Mayor (later District Attorney) Barry Lawrence due to the fact that Columbia Pictures Television owned the rights to the Barrington character.
