Plot Overview
Newly Married Couple Wilbur,and Carol Post are excited to be moving into their new Home.They meet their new neighbor Roger Addison.He is an older Man who is also married.His wife is currently out of Town.He gives the Posts a tour of their new Home.He takes them to the Barn.There they find a Horse,aPalamino to be exact.This Horse was left there by the previous owner.He tells the Posts that if they like,they can keep,or sell the Horse.Carol is all for selling the Horse.Wilbur wants to keep it.They have a minor disagreement,but Wilbur gives in.The Horse at one point gives Wilbur a wink.Wilbur has a strange feeling about this Horse.The Horse acts in a strange manner towards the Man that Carol had called to take the Horse away.The Man refuses to buy the Horse,and so the Posts decides to keep him.Wilbur is very happy about this.Alone in the Barn with the Horse Wilbur expresses how as a child he always wanted to have a Pony.When he says that it has been a lone time since he was a little boy,he hears a voice say,"its been a long time since I was a Pony".Wilbur then turns to find out who had said those words.The Horse had actually said those words.Wilburs is shocked that a Horse can talk.Still uncertain,Wilbur asks the Horse,to say something,anything.The Horse says,"how now brown cow".Convinced,Wilbur runs from the Barn to tell Carol about the talking Horse.She of course does'nt believe it.He takes her to the Barn to let her hear for herself,the Horse talk.The Horse says nothing.Carol is starting to think that Wilbur is cracking up.So,she leaves.Alone again with the Horse,Wilbur wants to know the Horse,who introduces himself as Ed refuse to talk to Wilburs wife.Ed says that he hates skeptics.He decided to talk to Wilbur because,he likes Wilbur.Ed,and Wilbur begin what is to be a number of discussions,and the beginning of a long friendship.Carol would also change her mind about Wilbur cracking up.She would be convinced throughout the Series that Wilbur has a fond attachment to Mister Ed.Ed in time would develope a fondness for Carol,and she for him.However,he would still not speak in front of her.Only Wilbur,and some children.
