Plot Overview

The killer is a high school student who's a 'band geek'. The victim is a high school science teacher who was bludgeoned to death. Arriving at the murder scene are senior detectives Angie Flynn and Oscar Vega, as well as junior detective Bryan Lucas. When they arrive, they notice a couple of things...first off, the victim's wife, covered in his blood, and secondly, the words 'The Creeper' written on the wall in black marker. Initially, access to the body is difficult, because the victim's black Lab is protecting the corpse, and not even Angie, who has a way with dogs, can get past it. When they finally get to the murder room, two more things become apparent...one is a missing bowling trophy, which they assume to be the weapon, and two, that someone is hiding in the attic. Angie gets access to the attic, but whoever was up there has managed to flee through the vent and past all the cops out front. Subsequent investigation turns up several more incidents of the Creeper, and it's soon discovered the meaning of the cryptic phrase...a pair of kids who engage in the game of 'creeping', which is breaking into a house and stealing a 'souvenir', something done more for thrills than anything else. One of the creepers is a student of the dead teacher, but the other, who turns out to be the killer, is not. Angie and Oscar use the dead man's dog, which the boy knows and likes, to nail him, and upon interrogation, learn the secret that the young man and the teacher shared.
