Plot Overview
The victim is a beautiful young woman who worked at an art gallery. The killer is a middle-aged woman on disability who works as a telemarketer out of her home and also paints pictures of kittens that she sells in an area coffee house. The victim was shot to death with a World War II musket pistol, just like the ones that the killer's son collects. The son is the initial focus of the detectives' investigation, and his mother's willingness to protect him, and vice versa, complicates the case. Ultimately, it's a closer look at one of the kitten paintings that provides the motive.
