Ohio is a new television series based on author Stephen Markley's debut novel. Like the book, which is equal parts murder mystery and social critique, the show will explore a generation that's come of age knowing only war, recession, racial hostility and partisanship.
Ohio will attempt to capture the fractured soul of the country through the lens of a fictional Midwestern town ravaged by the Great Recession, an opioid crisis and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The series will focus on one sweltering, fateful summer night in 2013 when four former classmates return to their rust belt hometown, each carrying their own regrets, secrets and lost loves.
