Pandemonium is a game show piloted for CBS's daytime line-up. Three pilots were prepared in November 1979.

The game is in three stages. The first stage has 118 members of the studio audience spotted $50. A yes/no question is asked, and the contestants lock in their answers with a hand-held device. All contestants who answered incorrectly are eliminated and lose their $50. Three questions are asked; the four quickest times on the third question advance to the second stage.

Stage two is the Bounce Game. Sitting at lecterns, the four contestants are spotted seven bounces. They select the number of bounces they want to use based on their knowledge of a subject. Questions are asked, first to the player who had the quickest time on the first stage's final question, and that player may answer or pass a bounce to another player. That player can bounce back until one answers or running out of bounces forces a player to answer. Wrong answers eliminate a player with the first eliminated player receiving $100, the second getting $200 and the third $300. The contestant left standing progresses to the third stage.

In Stage three, called the People Puzzle, the winning contestant faces ten members of the studio audience all dressed as famous celebrities and characters. Two figures come to center stage, and the contestant has to be correct about a question regarding one of them. Doing so wins an envelope (out of eight) with money values inside. Five questions (for all five pairs) are posed, and the figures that were in the correct answer takes the envelopes as selected by the contestant. If the total money values add up to $2000 or more, the contestant wins the cash and a prize package worth over $20,000. The rest of the studio audience divides the identical money winnings of the contestant.

The theme music for Pandemonium was the John Williams theme to the 1978 Superman movie.
