Plot Overview
Charlie Brown and the Peanuts entourage form a ragtag little league baseball team that can never win a game. Fed up with hitching their star to a losing wagon, the other kids leave the team. Charlie Brown manages to get them back together after securing a sponsor, but then the sponsor renegs when they learn that the team has a dog and girls. Charlie Brown does not tell the others this yet; the game is played. Charlie Brown, on third base, attempts to steal home and does not even make it halfway. The others abandon him again until Linus lights into them about what Charlie Brown has done for the sake of the sport. Touched by this, they make an "Our Manager" sweatshirt for Charlie Brown--out of Linus' blanket. The special ends with the next game presumably rained out, but Charlie Brown is on the pitcher's mound ready to play in spite of the rain. Linus comes out--not to play, but to attach himself to C.B.'s sweatshirt.
